Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information is processed when you use FormatYeti (https://formatyeti.com), why, and what your rights are. The data controller is the operator of the site, Gprint Iroda (Széchenyi u. 1., 4400 Nyíregyháza, Hungary); contact details are in the Legal notice.

Your files

Files you convert with FormatYeti are processed entirely inside your web browser, on your own device. They arenever uploaded to our servers or to anyone else, and we have no way to see, store or recover them. When you close or reload the page, the files and the converted results are gone from the browser’s memory.

Information collected when you visit

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. Like every web server, Cloudflare receives technical information whenever your browser requests a page: your IP address, the address of the page, the time, and your browser’s user agent. This is needed to deliver the site and to protect it against abuse and attacks. Cloudflare provides us with aggregated statistics (such as the number of visits per page, country and browser) that do not identify individual visitors. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

To count visits we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. Its small script reports which page was viewed, the referring page, the browser and how fast the page loaded. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not build a profile of you, and we only see the totals. SeeCloudflare Web Analytics.

We do not set cookies of our own, we do not run any other tracking or analytics scripts, and we do not ask you to create an account.

When you drop or paste a file on the home page and pick a converter, the file is kept briefly in your browser’s own storage (IndexedDB) so the converter page can open it. It never leaves your device and is removed as soon as the converter page has taken it.

Advertising

FormatYeti is free because it is funded by advertising. We use, or are preparing to use, Google AdSense to show ads. When ads are shown:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You can learn more inhow Google uses information from sites that use its services.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google’sMy Ad Center, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.
  • If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before personalised ads or advertising cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time using the privacy settings link shown on the page.

Ads never have access to the files you convert.

Email

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply to you. We keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and then delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Legal basis (GDPR)

  • Server logs and security: our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Cookie-free visit statistics: our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Personalised advertising and advertising cookies: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw.
  • Emails: our legitimate interest in answering your message (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us athello@formatyeti.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Hungary this is the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH),naih.hu.

Transfers outside the EU

Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States and other countries. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Users in Brazil (LGPD)

If you are in Brazil, Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, Law No. 13,709/2018, “LGPD”) also applies to the processing described in this policy. The operator named above is the controller (controlador). You can reach them at hello@formatyeti.com, which is also the channel for requests about your data.

  • Server logs, security and cookie-free visit statistics: our legitimate interests (Art. 7, IX LGPD).
  • Personalised advertising and advertising cookies: your consent (Art. 7, I LGPD), which you can withdraw.
  • Emails: our legitimate interest in answering your message (Art. 7, IX LGPD).

Under Art. 18 LGPD you have the right to confirm whether we process your data, to access, correct, anonymise, block or delete it, to data portability, to information about whom we share it with, and to withdraw your consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@formatyeti.com. You can also file a complaint with Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados, ANPD), gov.br/anpd.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.

Changes

We may update this policy, for example when we add new features or advertising partners. The date at the top shows the latest version.
