What is kept when you merge
| Original PDFs | Merged PDF | |
|---|---|---|
| Pages, text and images | Separate files | All in one file, unchanged |
| Page sizes and orientation | Per file | Kept page by page |
| Selectable, searchable text | Yes | Yes |
| Links inside pages | Yes | Kept |
| Bookmarks and form fields | Per file | Not carried over |
Merging copies each page with its text, fonts and images untouched, so the result looks exactly like the originals and the file size is roughly the sum of the inputs. If the merged file is too large to email, run it through the PDF compressor afterwards.
Bookmarks (the outline in the sidebar of a PDF reader) and fillable form fields belong to each original document and are not combined. Fill in forms before merging if you need their contents in the final file.
Typical uses
Collect scanned receipts, signed pages and attachments into one file for an application, put a cover letter in front of a CV, or join monthly statements into a yearly archive. Because nothing is uploaded, it is also safe for contracts, medical letters and ID documents.
Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. The files are read and combined inside your browser. They never leave your device.
Is there a limit on files or pages?
There is no fixed limit. Very large documents, hundreds of megabytes in total, may be slow on phones because everything happens in your device’s memory.
Will the quality change?
No. Pages are copied, not re-rendered, so text stays sharp and images are not re-compressed.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not directly. Remove the password from the file first, then add it here.
Can I add images as pages?
This tool merges PDF files. To turn photos or scans into PDF pages, use JPG to PDF or PNG to PDF first, then merge the results.
