The service

FormatYeti provides free tools that convert files inside your web browser. The conversion is done by your own device; we do not receive, store or have access to your files. The tools are free to use for personal and commercial purposes, and no account is needed.

Your files and your responsibility

  • You may only convert files that you own or have the right to use and modify.
  • You are responsible for keeping your own copies of your files. Always keep the original until you have checked the converted result.
  • You must not use the site for anything unlawful.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to disrupt the site, overload it with automated requests, copy it wholesale, or interfere with the ads that keep it free. We may block access for anyone who misuses the site.

No warranty

The tools are provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to make them reliable, but we cannot guarantee that every file will convert correctly, that the results will suit your purpose, or that the site will always be available. Results depend on your browser and device.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the site, including loss of data or files. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Third-party content and ads

The site may show advertising and link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content of ads or external sites.

Intellectual property

The site’s design, text and code are owned by its operator, except for open-source components, which are used under their own licences (see About). Your files remain yours.

Changes and governing law

We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. These terms are governed by Hungarian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.
