    How to split a PDF

    1. Base camp

Add your PDF with Choose files or drag it into the box.

    2. Camp 1

Choose One PDF per page, or Page ranges and type the pages you want, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each range becomes one PDF.

    3. Summit

Download the parts one by one, or click Download all to get them in a ZIP file.

One PDF per page or page ranges?

ResultA file for every pageA file for every range you type

In both modes the pages are copied exactly, with their text, fonts and images, so the parts look identical to the original and the text stays searchable.

To extract pages into a single file, type them as one range, such as 2-4. To combine pages from different places, split them out first and then put them back together with Merge PDF.

    Writing page ranges

Separate ranges with commas. 3 is a single page, 2-5 is pages 2 to 5, and 8- means page 8 to the end. A range that goes past the last page simply stops there.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is opened and split inside your browser, so it never leaves your device.

    Does splitting reduce quality?

No. Pages are copied without re-rendering, so text and images are exactly as in the original.

Can I split several PDFs at once?

Yes. Add as many PDFs as you like and each one is split with the same setting. Download all puts every part in one ZIP file.

Why are the parts nearly as big as the original?

Fonts and shared images used on a page have to be included in every part that uses them. That is normal. Use the PDF compressor if a part is still too large.

    Can I split a password-protected PDF?

Not directly. Remove the password first, then split the unlocked copy.
