SVG files are perfect for logos and icons on the web, but slide decks, social media sites, email signatures and many apps need a normal image instead. This tool renders your SVG into a crisp PNG at the size you choose, with the transparent background kept.

An SVG is not really a picture: it is a small text file describing shapes, lines and colours. That is why it looks sharp at any size and is often tiny. A PNG, by contrast, is a fixed grid of pixels. Converting means choosing how many pixels you want, so think about where the image will be used and pick a size at least as large as it will be displayed.

For a logo on a slide, 1000–2000 pixels wide is plenty. For a favicon or app icon, render at 512 px and scale down from there. For print, aim for about 300 pixels per inch of the printed width.

When an SVG renders differently than expected

Browsers render SVG files as self-contained images, which means they will not load anything the SVG links to on the internet or elsewhere on your disk: external fonts, linked images and stylesheets are skipped for security reasons. If text appears in the wrong font, convert the text to outlines in your design tool before exporting the SVG. Images embedded directly inside the SVG work normally.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is my SVG uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser renders the SVG and creates the PNG locally. Nothing leaves your device.

What size will the PNG be?

By default, the size defined in the SVG file itself. If the SVG has no size, it uses 1024 pixels wide. You can type any width you like and the height follows the original proportions.

Does the PNG keep the transparent background?

Yes. Areas without shapes stay transparent. If you want a solid background, turn off the transparency option and pick a colour.

Why does my text show in a different font?

For security, browsers do not load external fonts referenced by an SVG that is drawn as an image. Convert text to outlines (paths) in your design tool, or embed the font in the SVG.

    Is there a maximum size?

Browsers limit the size of a canvas, typically to around 16 000 pixels per side or about 16 million pixels on iPhones. The tool scales the image down to fit and tells you when this happens.
